BIO

Dr. Caroline T. Mears, DO joined the staff at Aspen Valley Hospital in August 2022, just two months after completing her residency in internal medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School Residency Program, where she was Internal Medicine Chief Resident. Dr. Mears is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is part of the family medicine team at Aspen Valley Primary Care. Dr. Mears earned her medical degree in 2019 from Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. She is fluent in Spanish, and as an undergraduate studied abroad at The General Hospital of Valencia in Spain. She also worked as a medical translator for Cross Over Health Care Ministry in Richmond, Virginia. In medical school, Dr. Mears trained in the Professionalism and Leadership in the Medical Setting program, which develops leadership skills for medical practitioners. She set her sights on living and working in Aspen after spending a summer waitressing at Justice Snow’s restaurant in the Wheeler Opera House. She and her husband Justin relocated here and are looking forward to participating in all Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer.
