When to Go to the Emergency Department

Aspen Valley Hospital provides emergency care for serious illnesses and injuries at any hour of the day or night. Walk-in treatment is also available for minor ailments. Most illness and injury can be treated at Aspen Valley Hospital or the After Hours Medical Care Clinic in Basalt. However, in the event that a specialist not on our staff is needed, we have established relationships with tertiary facilities, and an FAA-approved helipad is onsite to help expedite transport.

Never hesitate to seek medical attention when you feel you need it. If you have any questions, you may call us directly at 970.544.1228.

They are supported by specialty trained nurses, as well as physicians from over 20 different specialties ranging from cardiology to orthopedics to urology.

Aspen Valley Hospital is designated a Level III Trauma Center, which means you can expect a national standard of care as set forth by the American College of Surgeons. With eight beds for general treatment, five private exam rooms, a casting area specifically for orthopedic cases, a state-of-the-art trauma center, and a full scope of diagnostic tools, Aspen Valley Hospital is prepared for any type of emergency.

Our standards are as high as any medical center in the nation. Patient satisfaction scores, as measured by Press Ganey, consistently run at the 95th percentile including physician care, pain management, problem resolution, key results, nursing care, and wait times.
